What to do when you receive the plants wrapped in sphagnum moss

The rare tropical plants from our partner Yougrowglencoco are shipped with sphagnum moss wrapped around the roots. Upon receiving it in mail, you can gently pull the moss off and pot in soil.

Optional adjustment period:
- Leaving the plant in sphagnum moss in a planter and mist the moss until visibility wet.
- Letting the plant adjust to its new home for 5-7 days before repotting.
How to remove the moss before repotting:
1. Soak the moss in water and gently shake the plant
2. Pull off the strands gently (If the moss is stuck to the roots, leaving a small amount on the plant and repotting that into aroid mix would be totally okay.)
Aroid mix options:

Recipe 1:  2 part premium potting soil (Promix or Foxfarm brand), 1 part perlite, 1 part fir bark/orchid mix/coco husk nuggets, 1 part aquarium/horticultural charcoal.

Recipe 2 the 5:1:1 mix: 5 parts fir bark/orchid mix/coco husk nuggets, 1 part perlite, 1 part premium potting soil.
